**Program Description:**

Msc in mathematics program builds upon the existing knowledge of Mathematics and further

expands the horizons of mathematical knowledge. The program reflects the active subjects of

contemporary mathematics and equips students’ skill sets for the future. The MSc in

Mathematics opens new scientific perspectives in the chosen area of specialization. Upon the

successful completion of the MSc in Mathematics, students can enroll in a PhD program or work

in industry as applied mathematicians. Within the program, students can decide to specialize in

the following three main tracks:

● Mathematics in Data Science

● Pure Mathematics

● Applied Mathematics

**Program Learning Outcomes:**

Upon the successful completion of MSc in Mathematics at SDU, graduates are able to

1. Demonstrate mastery of global concepts of theory and practice in modern mathematics

2. Analyze theoretical and applied problems and utilize necessary mathematical techniques

to develop solutions

3. Carry independent inquiry and develop a creative work, evidenced by a master's thesis

and research publications.

4. Demonstrate abilities in the critical analysis and quantitative reasoning of global

problems arising in mathematics.

5. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of their area of specialization.

6. Communicate mathematical ideas to a mathematics audience both in writing and

presentation.

Bachelor degree in Mathematics

Sufficient level of English language
